Little Songbird
Graceful in
a graceless place
amid rustic
joking men
out of
place, a puzzle part
a lady
though a girl lingers
in the easy
way she sits
her manner lightly
earthbound
Is she a captive
bird
caged by nets
of need
her wings clipped;
song stilled
left on her
perch alone
as life
swirls around her
glittering
peaceful world
